The Contrary Research Fellowship is built for sharp tech-literate individuals to research, analyze, and write about the most important private tech companies and markets.

Each fellowship cohort lasts three months, after which fellows will either graduate from the program or be promoted to Senior Fellows. During a cohort, Research Fellows produce reports on companies like Ramp, Anduril, OpenAI, and more.

Fellows who do well are promoted to Senior Fellows and collaborate with Contrary’s investment team to produce market-focused deep dives on topics from chip building to vertical AI.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and reviewed towards the END of each quarter. If you submit your application towards the beginning of a quarter, it may take several months before you receive a decision.

Deadlines for 2026 are as follows: March 25 (Q1 cohort), June 17 (Q2 cohort), October 23 (Q3 cohort), and December 9 (Q4 cohort)
